Audience: Anyone who does work for compensation on homes or child occupied facilities built prior to 1978.
Are you certified to comply with the new EPA Lead Safe Renovation rule? This new law requires anyone who disturbs paint while being paid to work in pre-1978 homes to be Lead-Safe Certified. If you’re not, you can face thousands of dollars in fines. Disturbing just six square feet could cost you big time!
Under new EPA Rules, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb paint in homes or child occupied facilities built prior to 1978 must be certified in lead safe work practices. This EPA Certified course, provided by with the Oregon Home Builders Association, consists of two parts: the five hour online class and a 3 hour hands-on training course. After completing the online training, you will receive a certificate that allows you to attend the hands-on training. Please note: There is an additional cost for the hands-on training.
